Led by bassist Steve Harris, Iron Maiden are the most successful British rockband of all times, who embody heavy metal itself in capital letters for millions of people. What with the heroism, twin-guitars, galloping metal-riffs susceptible to prog-rock in places and the stripy leggings, Iron Maiden influenced miriads of bands, and as the sole survivors of late-seventies British heavy-metal wave, have marched through three decades as a permanent success. Whatever happened, the quintessence of their work is to be found on their classic albums: Killers, Piece Of Mind, The Number Of The Beast and Powerslave. While other heavy-rocker contemporaries tended to go down by their very own efforts of renewal, Iron Maiden remained reasonably successful even after the nasty breakup with heyday singer Bruce Dickinson, though never repeated the big time of the old days with new frontman Blaze Bayley. Since Maiden and Dickinson have been reconciled, the old bingo line-up have been setting millions of fans aflame anew. Even now Eddie, this gore mascot that symbolizes the band, never fails to remind us of the baroque elements, the strokes of monumental climax and the trademark Harris basslines, not to mention that they still keep touring the world with their remarkable records of recent years from Tokyo to Rio, from Mexico City to Budapest. Hungarian audiences saw them in every important stage of their career. This time the guys will rock Main Stage in top-shape again as idols of several generations.
